The process was straightforward: We created a disconnected Recordset; we made changes to the data; we called the Update Batch method; and enchantment happened.
If we had carefully crafted SQL statements or stored procedures, it didn't matter.
If the incoming data contains unnamed columns, they are placed in the Data Set according to the pattern "Column1", "Column2", and so on.
When multiple result sets are added to the Data Set each result set is placed in a separate table.
The four properties are set to Command objects that are used when data is manipulated.
